Allstate Consultants was established in Columbia, Missouri in 1975 by Mr. Ron C. Shy. In 1997 an office was opened in Marceline, Missouri. 

The diverse nature of the firm’s business has generated valuable experience involving civil engineering and land surveying required for the development of municipal, residential and commercial projects.  Allstate Consultants is capable of providing timely fieldwork with the latest surveying technology and can quickly manipulate field data into AutoCad Civil 3D to produce applicable drawings.

In addition to plan preparation, the firm is often required to prepare cost estimates for budgetary purposes, prepare bid documents and project specifications, procure competitive bids, administer contracts and change orders, provide complete construction observation and administration, and provide forensic investigations.  Allstate Consultants has a geotechnical laboratory in the Columbia office capable of performing a wide variety of geotechnical materials testing.  Our service area includes Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.

We have successfully completed professional services for private, public and municipal clients such as Bass Pro Shops, Mid-America Harley Davidson, Ashley Furniture, Walgreens, Livingston County Public Water Supply District No. 4, Chariton-Linn County Public Water Supply District No. 3, City of Columbia, County of Boone, City of New Bloomfield, Village of Wardsville and City of Marceline.

We take pride in our relationship with governmental funding agencies at the local, state and federal levels. We are able to assist our municipal clients in obtaining financial grant assistance for projects which improve infrastructure and safety for residents of the municipality.

Our firm understands the absolute necessity of completing all applications, forms, reports, and documents required for funding requests in a timely manner to meet deadlines.  In addition, we are accustomed to providing assistance to clients for local stakeholder meetings or public hearings that may be necessary for project due diligence requirements.

We have successfully assisted in securing funding from the following agencies; United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development, Natural Resources Conservation Services, Department of Natural Resources Water and Sewer Grants, Economic Development Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, MDNR-State Revolving Loan Fund, Missouri Community Development Block Grant, Missouri Department of Transportation (BRO, STP, etc.).

We pride ourselves in continuing to maintain a locally owned and operated firm for over 32 years.  Because we're local, we can respond with minimal lead time, travel time, and out-of-pocket expense. Our reputation depends on responsiveness to services completed in the office and on the construction site.

Our Team

We currently have a staff of 46 employees, including licensed engineers and surveyors; drafting and field crew technicians; construction observation and testing personnel, ACI and NRC certified for concrete, soil and asphalt testing; forensic and investigative personnel; and administrative office staff.
