Storm Water Management Bristol Lake Storm Water Management Allstate Consultants led a team that created a comprehensive storm water management plan that is being implemented with the construction of the Bristol Lake Development. This development is in the Clear Creek and Gans Creek watersheds that drain through the environmentally sensitive Rock Bridge State Park and cave system. Due to this downstream sensitivity, the storm water management plan developed for this site was among the most comprehensive plans prepared in mid-Missouri. Key features of this plan include low impact development, impervious area limitations, preservation of existing timber, and extended detention and water quality ponds in the residential areas. The commercial and office components of the development have a plan that utilized the existing 40 acre Philips Lake as the feature storm water bmp. The outlet structure and dam were reconstructed to create a regional storm water detention and water quality lake. The lake was protected by a system of large swales with under drains that detain and filter storm water runoff prior to it reaching the lake. In addition, each individual site within the development is required to treat storm water prior to releasing it to the regional system.
