Lawrence, Kansas Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Allstate Consultants was hired as a design-build team member to design a bulk powdered activated carbon feed system for the Kaw River Water Treatment plant that serves the City of Lawrence.  The original water treatment facilities were constructed pre-1900, and the new feed system had challenging design and construction constraints.  The project consisted of a reinforced concrete basins, powdered activated carbon unloading system, dust collection, solution mixers, and chemical feed pumps.  Total project cost was approximately $900,000.
